It’s in our DNA, and part of our philosophy that we play our part and make a difference in the world — from little things, big things grow.  Biodiversity and climate change are two sides of the same coin and it’s our Mission Possible to do as much as we can as a company to be ‘Climate Cool’.   We own xxx hectares of lush green farmland in New Zealand, and tucked amongst the animals and fields are over 200,000(?) of native plants and trees that we’ve tended and regenerated.  Our intention is to not buy carbon credits (we think that’s cheating), we’re out to become carbon neutral using the provisions from within our farms. Both native trees and grasslands sequester carbon, much needed as carbon sinks.  We’ve planted multi species through low to no till practices within our fields for the reason of increasing soil biodiversity and water retention, to assist climate resilience with the added benefit that it provides the cows a heap of grass to munch on. Southern Pastures, Lewis Road’s parent is a leader in regenerative farming and a hero of the soil ( after all in healthy soils, a tea spoon holds more life than humans on this planet).  Our farmers are our food providers and having food from reputable sources, grown naturally … is our soul goal.
